ChromeOS 107 For Chromebooks Is Available Now, Featuring Saved Desks and a New Recent Files Filter.

Saved Desks and a New Recent Files Filter are Available in ChromeOS 107 for Chromebooks, which is Currently Available.

Google revealed ChromeOS 107 for Chromebooks on Monday. The most current ChromeOS version includes five feature changes, including a filter that lets users access the Files app through sections divided into various time periods and a redesigned recently used files section. Additionally, it gives Chromebooks a lock-on-lid-close functionality that secures the machine when the lid closes without interrupting the user's ongoing active session. Users now have the choice to rapidly save and close a virtual desk while keeping the apps and windows in the layout thanks to the addition of Saved Desks in ChromeOS 107.

On Monday, Google unveiled ChromeOS 107 for Chromebooks. A filter that allows users to access the Files app through sections divided into different time periods and a revised frequently used files area are two of the five feature updates in the most recent ChromeOS release. Furthermore, it provides Chromebooks the ability to lock the device when the lid closes without interfering with the user's current active session. With the introduction of Saved Desks in ChromeOS 107, users now have the option to quickly save and close a virtual desk while maintaining the apps and windows in the layout.

Users don't need to do anything to use the chronological filter on the Files App in ChromeOS 107 because it is enabled by default.

The option to save Desks is the biggest new feature. With only one click, you may "Save desk for later" from the Overview panel. You may give it a name, view the creation date, and quickly scan the iconography.

It is now simpler to close open desks from the Overview menu, and if you accidentally close a desk and wish to undo it, a brief "Undo" prompt appears. A merge feature that enables you to consolidate opened Desks into a single one is apparently also being tested by Google. A new design and "documents" filter are added to the Files app's Recent view. In addition, rather than being a simple list, the list below is organised by date. Finally, when you press and hold on the virtual or actual keyboard, a pop-up list of accented characters appears. You might need to enable the flag in Chrome if that doesn't work.
